Anyone have any actual experience with the difference between the regular pdi manifold and the honed and coated one. I have a e model cat set at 550hp. I've heard the coated one dosen't perform any better than the regular one unless you're running big hp. I'd just like to hear from someone with actual experience with them before I spend the extra $500 for the coated one. Thanks in advance.

You may not have any noticeable power out of a coated one, but you should experience 100-150 degree drop in EGT's due to better exhaust flow, with a noticeable mpg improvement. and should have some improvement in turbo spool up. Of course, everything is dependent of the other parts of the exhaust system. If one of the other components is "choking" the exhaust flow, then going with coated manifold may not do a lot. You need a total high flow exhaust system to really make any of this worth while.

I've run both on a PDI tuned ACERT. I had to have the first one replaced under warranty and spent the extra money and upgraded to a ported coated unit. Not worth it no noticeable mileage, power or tempature gains. It does seem to have slightly better turbo response. BUT thats on a ACERT with lots of restriction through the turbos.
