So, if anyone has read my blogs they would see that I had gall bladder surgery just yesterday. Oh, it sucked. Luckily it was outpatient and I got to go home, of course in a great deal of pain. So anyway, while in surgery I was given pain killers and now I have a prescription for oxycodone, another pain killer.
What I want to know is, if I have to take another whiz quiz in the next month, will oxycodone or any other surgical pain reliever show up, causing me to fail the test? I had to postpone my refresher course last month and on the 23rd I am taking it and I may have to take another drug test. Any help would be appreciated.

When you get your pee test, you normally have to fill out a form that asks if you are under any meds. As long as you have a script from a doc, you have nothing to worry about. And most of the pee tests are looking for pot or coke anyways.
And, my buddy is on something like 13 different meds. No problems.

Oxycodone and Hydrocodone are synthetic opiods and are not "supposed" to be detectable at therapeutic doses on the standard 5 panel test. It is known to trigger a positive at abusive levels, however there are generally more specific tests used when they are looking for those in particular.
They have a relatively short half-life and 3 days is usually the limit on detection. It can be detectable up to a week in cases of chronic use and high body fat percentage.Teaforone Thanks this. -
When I had knee surgery and I mentioned I was a truck driver to the anthesiologist he said lots of the stuff he was going to give me would make my next piss test light up like a Christmas Tree.... he sent me a letter afterwards with a list of all the stuff that had been used.
Then I did not come up for a random for more than a year and never needed the list.
I just make sure whenever the doc wants to give me something I make sure I've got a prescription and its not on the DOT list.
