Yes to quote a wise proverb actually not sure of the source " If it sounds to good to be true it ........ probably isn't" the old lease program where all your doing is paying off the truck for them and not doing yourself any favours. Yes know how you feel if your a Christian doing the right thing, doing good to others following the golden rule and all that telling the truth and what reward to you get for doing all that? Any wonder that the world is really going down the drain in a big hurry.

 

Thanks for your insight sir. Please if you have any other thoughts, please share. If anyone has first person experience with not being certified because of admitted marijuana use, please share. And to just clarify the circumstances, I do not hold a CDL neither have I failed any drug test, I am not a truck driver yet but i want to become a truck driver; when I went to go get a DOT physical I answered yes to question 31 because I have smoked marijuana within the last two years apparently because I smoked marijuana within the last two years I need clearance from a Substance Abuse Professional, which is what I was told at Concentra. Anyhow, I would like receive any advice, direction and/or words of knowledge concerning this. Thanks to all ya'll.

Never snitch on yourself.

 

SAP only applies if you've failed a drug test and had your licenses suspended. Just admitting it on a physical form doesn't mean much. You can go to another place to do another physical, but to be legal you must answer yes to that question. Unless of course you claim it's now been more than two years now...

 

Another thing to think about...even with the successful completion of a SAP there are companies who will not hire you. They just won't take a chance on a driver with a history of drug use.
They won't come right out and say that's the reason why they're not hiring you but some of the more specialized companies like fuel or munitions haulers want a squeaky clean driver.
I don't agree with their position and I think SAP cases should be considered one by one but it is what it is.
Don't get discouraged. There are companies out there that will give you a chance.

Just a little FYI, you don’t have a cdl, right?

are you in school or have already taken the tests for your permit?

if you haven’t gotten to a school, no permits and of course no cdl, you don’t have to worry about anything. A dot physical is meaningless for you and any thing that happened should be ignored when you go for another physical because they don’t have to and should not have kept records of the attempt.
