I heard that the driver facilities were moving out of the old building into the new digs sometime next month. -
Unless there was residual poison.........it would be a shame to kill a good dog.

True that! I think most dogs have good enough noses to catch the scent of most poisons though.

No Rest for the Wicked....

Hopped over to Fort Morgan after unloading in Denver for a meat load back to Lynn MA (Lynn, Lynn, town of sin).
I drove the roller coaster that is I80 in western PA grossing out at 77K... I guess I can say I got some good work in on the 10-speed.... got through it fine... #### little grinding at all... the timing's definately coming.
Who ever wrote the directions for Lynn MA was on crack... forget the Tobin Bridge... take I95/MA128 all the way up to Peabody then jump on 129E. We went in right during the 8AM rush hour & drove right in.... would have been tied up in traffic for an hour going the route on the directions.... The rookie got some kudos for that bit of navigation.
FINALLY got unloaded at 2AM... & headed to Providence for a military commissary 4-stop run for Hanscom AFB, Portsmouth NSY, Brunswick NAS, & Bangor ANG.
Grabbing some breakfast & stealing some wi-fi from the McD's in Bangor before heading up to Easton for the french fries.
Just to make a few other trainers drool.... my wife's going to meet us at Exit 75 on the way down with a couple lobster rolls.... Maine ain't all bad.

**wiping drool from chin*** You just made me think of Charrier's, a restaurant I used to stop at every time I went through Skowhegan. No idea if it is still there, but man that place was good, and nice quantity. -
Let's see... when we last left this little saga we were on the way from Easton ME to Bethlehem PA with a load of Food Lion Crinkle Cuts... Drop that... head to Hershey's for a load of chocolate bound for LA... California, here we come...
... well.... not so fast... get as far as Amerillo... QC BEEP... Hey you have some extra time on this load... can you swap with a solo driver & repower a load to MO?
OK, well... it's likely to be lighter than this 42K of candy.... HA, fat chance... that one's 43K.
Met him at the TX/NM boarder & swap 'em... get it back to MO on time (which the solo wouldn't have) from there jump up to IL for.... 44K of more candy (Easter's coming) Nestle's this time... headed for Ogden UT.
What a trip.... strong headwind all the way from Lincoln NE to Cheyenne WY... was so bad as we got into WY that we could only do 50 MPH with your foot through the floor... fuel mileage was in the crapper... pulled into the T/A in Cheyenne for some grub & got the word... I-80 from Laramie to Rawlins was shut down.... high winds & zero visibility in blowing snow.... got something to eat & hit the rack.
Road open in the early AM but high winds still made for a "no light trailers" warning.
We're rollin' 78K so we head out... wind was bad... gusts to 60 MPH reported but we were doing fine... albeit slow... then we come up on some fool out there with signs all over the highway about no light trailers, & he's trying to drive his Toyota RV up the hill... he was BARELY able to keep it on the road & we swore that it was going over right in front of us more than a few times... we finally caught a chance to pass him so whatever wreck he caused would be behind us.
Weather got a bit better past Elk Mtn & Rawlins... still a headwind all the way to UT... but no where near as bad... fuel mileage for the trip was pathetic... I don't even want to mention the number it was so bad.
Currently at the shop in SLC getting the APU heater looked at... once they get us fixed up we've got a load sitting here at the yard bound for Sacremento... hey, at least it's a light one for a change.... been so long since we've had anything less than 40K in the box we don't remember what a light one feels like.
Everything's going real well... I've advanced to backing & docking, but so far they've been easy ones with a lot of room... I've been promised more than a few tight ones before my 60K are up

I'm decently sure that Wyoming has a "no light trailers" advisory somewhere on I-80 continuously from October thru April.
