I'd look at some solo companies that hire 21 yr. old drivers:
Magnum Ltd. - put this one at the top of the list. Terminal in NC and fancy trucks with big paychecks.
    Then there's:

    Stevens Transport
    Veriha Trucking
    Schuster
    Carter Express
    Butler Transport
    Continental Express
    Navajo Express
    Britton Transport
Most of these have APU which is good if you're using electronic equipment such as Playstation, computer, television, refrigerator, etc.

I too agree but if I wish to continue to drive professionally I must not consume any m.j.. My hope is logic will eventually prevail and the stupid ignorant laws change. It will be a slow process.

As far as alcohol I despise the poison and I don't use it. I am 36 years old, drunk only once and hated, absolutely loathed the experience. Roast beef tastes horrid coming back up. This was probably a decade ago and I, unlike allot of people learned my lesson.

I think the laws are pretty bad when someone can do much, much worse substances but it's out of your system in a couple of days.

I would rather take no intoxicants then drink. How many drivers screw up their cdl with a dwi, yet they do it anyway. My last company sucked and he has a couple of captive drivers that have a dwi. The less desirable companies take guys with a dwi because they cannot get anyone else to work for them.

To say they died from weed is an inaccurate statement. The prohibition of weed is the problem. It's a substance forced onto the black market where it's not regulated or controlled. Same reason most people can have a drink but aren't going to die from moonshine liquor...... but they still can die from overconsumption in a single night. Try that with weed your just going way heavily and pass out on the couch. The laws are wrong and create many more problems then they can possibly solve.

Still right or wrong if your gonna sit in this seat you have to put up with it.....selling, dealing, whatever is a no no.

My scary thought is if he finds it ok to break a law that's been on the books for over 100 years, just to make more money, what will he be doing to make more money behind the wheel of an 80k lbs vehicle...
He obviously does not care about other peoples lives...

The law is wrong but you have to follow it. People still believe that weed is some sort of devil plant. The effects last no longer then alcohol, in fact alcohol is far more intoxicating. Alcohol is addictive. Alcohol can kill you. My own hometown is full of drinks but that's somehow ok. Woman at the gas station tells me people show up drunk all of the time. They drive there. That is what I find scary. My wife lost her dad to a drunk driver when she was 8. She's 35 years old, it still effects her. She wishes she could share our kids with their grandfather. How many people die from booze everyday??

Bottom line, you can disagree with a law BUT sometimes you have to follow it to keep your career, unless things change.

I guess he'll be selling if he's trapped in a truck stop waiting for next load, or when freight slows for the holidays.

OP...you can rationalize your actions any way you want but you're still a dope dealer. The fact that you don't see anything wrong with that worries me. If you'd been dealing coke or meth or heroin would that have been alright with you too?
I doubt seriously if I'd hire you to drive one of our trucks. If you'll try to lie and bluff and excuse your way out of a legitimate dope bust I wonder what else you'd lie about. If you needed some extra money would you be dealing out of my truck?
It's your attitude toward what you did, not the offense itself, that bothers me. Being a dope dealer is bad enough but your attitude is childish. Worse than that, it's just plain wrong.
