There are techs out here who own a spectrum analyzer BUT use them at their homes with their HAM/CB EQUIPMENT AND HAVE NO NEED/REASON TO USE THEM AT THEIR SHOPS. THEY ONLY SHOW WHAT THE RADIO IS DOING
People who like to experiment with microphones

I get that, I have a few here, but I also know how to properly use one and other equipment. However I don't go on youtube and make comments about what is better when the people who make them say that was wrong and get a laugh out of it.bored silly Thanks this.

Too much of anything is usually a bad thing. Mark doesn't know when to quit or back off with those videos. Makes a fool of himself at times I'd say....................
-
I watched a video of his that I felt he made fool of himself. Someone sent him a nice radio that needed to be fixed. He came unglued over it, and made a comment abut putting it back in the box and let it set on his shelf for a few months. I thought wow that's a good testimony for his business. He could have used that video to educate the public about his rules of doing business. Of course he just needs a simple web site to explain his business rather than word of mouth.

But that is the mystery of mark and his superduper technical skills.
There was a clown back in the 80's like this, you were only allowed to drop the radio off and would be called when it was done but never ever was allowed to "talk" to him, he was special and could not be bothered by the plebs.bored silly Thanks this. -
It's amazing people like that can even start a business. They just lack people skills or maybe the better words are common sense.bored silly Thanks this.

Well speaking about experimenting with microphones.... ahem, I had an old Astatic lollipop mic that I got off of eBay cheap since it didn't work. The Chrystal element was real weak sounding. I gutted the mic and installed an electret element. Had good on air reports with it. They're good old mics, they just need a little audio update. Although the old elements did have a good sound to them.

I hope it sounds better than this Kenwood TS-50.

Kenwood t 570s yes on Am they are not that good you seem to forget HF rigs are just that way om AM...It works for me and yes the cobra 200 had some adjustments made for cleaner audio after mark did it.. it is much better expanded now..
this is the kind of crap that makes us all laugh you have no life other then to do this ####..
same #### againbored silly Thanks this. -
If it was me, I'd stick with the Cobra 200. My life revolves around giving folks good advice so they don't need to waste money as you found out the hard way.
Sorry to hear you are having problems with the radio Mike did for you, but at least I told you how it would be. It's a shame you didn't believe me. Good luck in your future endeavors.
