Great information provided, I believe many people are scared of per diem
afraid the company has more to gain. (part of the company is out to get me mentality) The truth is the program is great depending on your tax situation. In most cases it is hugely beneficial. Who in their right mind would have complaint with seeing more money every week?

Take care and hope you find the information you seek. I'm more then willing to respond to any question that you may have.. If May trucking is what is right for you, I hope to see you over here! Take care out there and stay safe!

there is nothing wrong with per diem--as long as the company isnt paying you 22 cpm and using 10 to boost it up to 32 cpm to make it look like you are getting a decent rate
i myself would rather have it at the end of the year--but for others having it every paycheck is what works for them

Excuse me? This pic was taken with my iPhone and uploaded with my iPhone as well. It would be impossible to infect the picture on the phone. And imageshack has been around for years I use it all the time and never had a problem with it. So if you got a virus it has nothing to do with me.

Are you really taking TAX and Financial Advice from someone who not long ago had to file bankruptcy? From some one who does everything they can to scare people into buying a poorly written EBOOK? I respect fair speech, he has all the right in the world to say and do as he likes. Some people however should not talk they perpetuate ignorance.

Some of what he had to say holds merit, depending your financial situation.. Consider this for one moment tho.. You started trucking at the age of 21 never opted for per diem pay your now 58 and find out their is No more social SECURITY.. All that money you paid in WASTED, GONE and nothing to show for it.

When have you ever seen the Government make a smart financial decision? You think it is a run of bad luck that we have HUGE deficit.?. Trusting your Government to invest your money properly is about as ignorant as counting on over time to pay your fixed expenses.

the IRS is not a savings plan DRIVER you must have that confused with a IRA where you should be allocating your income. Would you give your money to a investment firm who promises to waste your money and never give you a return? OKAY THEN!

You can keep paying that is GREAT. I'll invest my money because I would like to REALLY RETIRE not just hope the government spends my money right.

    Trucker Steve,

I used that just as 1 example, and that is all.

Perhaps you missed the point I was trying to make.

Per diem is fine, take it at the end of the year, it will be to your benefit.

But as far as what the companies are doing, has no benefit for the driver.

Your company isn't bad, but some companies pay .10 or more per mile per diem.

So if you are running high miles, before you know it, you're above the legal daily allowed per diem.

I hope it works out for the May drivers.
