Owner operators own and operate their equipment. They can be leased on or operate the business themselves via an intrastate or interstate transport business. If you are a corporation and drive you can be called an owner operator. If you don’t drive your equipment you would just be a business owner and your title would be whatever ever position you perform in the corporation. Those are my interpretations. Others have their own. Your direct question of what percentage? Shoot I dunno, make something up and let it be gospel for yourself.

 

Yup, you can be the majority owner with 51 but not the sole owner, obviously!

Do you own and or operate?

 

1% - you own part of the LLC so you are an owner, there isn't a percentage amount until you get into the decision making for the company.

AND of course you have a lawyer setting this all up so neither of you get screwed?
