Performance 3406E head gasket solution ??

    Are your egt's high? I had an 80/1.45. Went down to a 1.32 because the lag and smoke during lag were too much for my liking... especially at high elevation. Manifold egt is spicy with this 1.32 at higher rpm under load. I'm going to put the 1.45 back on for the summer

    When I had the stock turbo they would climb too high if I wasn't paying attention but I stepped up to the 80mm with the 1.45 A/R and EGTs were no problem at all. Then, for testing sake I put a 1.32 turbine on and there's no lag at all but it runs out of breath on the upper end. Again, no issues with EGTs at all. In the end, I don't care about lag since it's the pulling power on the upper end that matters most to me on the highway/hills. It's strange driving a big block like a small block but I'm getting used to it (low RPM vs high RPM). My probe is after the turbo and temps never climb over 850-900. If you're measuring before the turbo, your numbers will be higher than after obviously. I think you'd be better off with the 1.45 minimum unless you never hit the big roads.
