No i dont have the passwords, maybe i can take you up on those, i got this ecm tuned for maximum power already, its a older style C16 ecm though so its programmed for bigger injectors, its not as strong as the newer C16s with smaller injectors, since smaller injectors need more fuel, so with my set up i would make more with a newer ecm, im not complaining though. Right now with the C16 computer on this bridge motor of mine over the 6NZ C15 computer, i have run out of turbo. Seems like im not moving the air needed for the extra power, shes right at 1100-1200*F on the pyro most of the time, time for yet another upgrade.

Fuel temp wire "lies" to the ecm telling it the fuel is cold and therfore the ecm keeps the timing advanced, does your CAT feel really strong when you fire it up in the morning and take off? If it does then thats what the fuel temp sensor does after the fuel in the tanks gets hot, it tells the ecm to retard timing, with the fuel temp wire that plugs into the stock sensor and engine harness it keeps the timing advanced by tricking the ecm into thinking the fuel is still cold. This is easily removable, and wont leave any traces in the ecm if you have warranty, also you can get a boost wire that hooks onto the boost sensor and gives you instant throttle response, 0 turbo lag.

I need some diesel 101 here.

What is the downside to keeping the timing advanced? Doesn't that make for a hot motor?

As for boost, what controls the boost?

Is there a waste gate that opens when boost isn't called for or is there a way to limit the turbo rpm/pressure at the turbo itself.

Dumb questions I know but I'm trying to get a clearer picture in my mind.

No my experience with diesel motors is the more retarded the timing the hotter it will run.

Boost is controlled by a wastegate on CATs to a certain extent, the turbo i have now is non-wastegated, the more fuel you turn to it the more boost it will run, and vice versa. I have already hit the 50psi boost cut, so i put a "pressure controller" on the boost sensor to bypass some of the boost it sees.

Carefull. I think those swift signs are magneticlly charged. As soon as you put them on the truck starts wanting to collide with all the others
