Poor Tony Mann. Why don't you make a list of the bad decisions you made. You act like Perkins is 100% at fault for you not making money.

I visit this board periodically, mostly in the last couple months and after driving for 7 years I have come to one conclusion: those that cry the loudest are probably the ones that caused most of their own problems. They don't take accountability for themselves or their own failures. It is always some elses fault.

I make money at Perkins. I get regular hometime. Make good decisions and am pretty happy with Perkins. They are just like any other company, they want to make money, but so can the drivers. My average check has been $900/week. That's $45K a year.

I like it here. My truck will be paid off in 2 years.

If you can't work, go ask Obama for some unemployment and stay off the road! Then the rest of us that know how to work hard can support your laziness.

Ethman, No Perkins is a 100% rip off you would do well to check it out the civil action against them will prove it in a court! As for laziness, I do not work for free to enrich criminals

Went through one day of orientation then headed back home. The LP program will not pay my financial obligations which are around $4500 per month. I am happy that were honest and informed me that I probably would not make enough to cover my monthly bills. Other than that, I cannot say much else.

4500. Per month, wow, time to cut bills at the house,
i am not familiar with anyone who has claimed to make that kind of net p/m as a o/o or l/p or even employee.
best of luck to you in your search.

Actually, $45k isn't bad. Once the truck gets paid off it will be over $60K. I don't feel I'm getting screwed. I read all these messages on here about drivers not being able to make money at Perkins. Well, I am. So whatever they did didn't work for them. I'm very pleased with Perkins, their freight and how they treat me. Overall, very happy there.

I was leased to Perkins Furniture Transport from 1992 - 1997 and Perkins Specialized Transportation, the renamed enterprize from 2001-2003

The company had a good reputation under various managements until Jim Card sold the company to his son Andy in 1996. It has been downhill ever since, ask anyone in any trucking company in or around Huntingburg IN, where their maintenance shop is.

I left in 2003 because of Andy Card's management decision to hire laid off North American Van Lines management personel. His business model is similar to NAVL in the 1980-1995 period. NAVL was sued numerous times during that time frame for these practices, and I expect Andy Card is defending the same type of lawsuits.
