I had the tunnel wind question on my permit test.
-
I agree with you but i liked that i took the general-knowledge test then took tanker and failed but went back knowing what they were like. Passed after reading the book.. and then practice test with cristcdl.com and trucker country then go back to the book for wrong answers.
combination and air brakes together
general and tanker
it makes understanding it all much easier.
if you all go with a company putting the time into u to train you. You will have a job and good training. I am going with Prime cuz they take care of their truckers but no one is perfect. -
It's been a while but the written test was a breeze. Just common sense mostly like any other. I aced it. Aced the Hazmat and tanker too. For me, the part that tripped me up was road test day. The pretrip. Know all the technical terms/parts etc. The old timer I drove with that took me to my road test was stumped on a lot of it as he listened in. Back when he got his license, none of it was necessary. They'll give you a cheat card tho if you want. I recommend using it. Of course I never studied anything for that and thought I had it covered as I was doing pretrips.

My advice is don't try to rush it. Answer the questions you know for sure and come back to the ones you're not sure of. What I remember about the permit tests is most of the answers are common sense. Are you taking the tests required or are you going for doubles/triples and hazmat as well?

I suggest that you ALWAYS take the practice test when you start your exam. Also take the time to clearly understand the process to skip a question.
.
.If you do not understand a question, my first choice would be to skip that question because a later question may jog your memory about the subject of the question that you skipped.
.
. You need 80% correct to pass the test. For example: if the test has 30 questions, there are two ways the test ends. 1. You get 24 questions (80%) correct OR 2. you have answered all 30 questions. It is possible to skip up to 6 questions, answer 24 correct and the test ends without ever answering the 6 questions that you skipped.
.
.Note: If the skipped questions start coming up again, you can skip them again. However you really need to get those questions correct to pass. -
I passed first try.
