You will also have to get legal separately for Quebec and BC if you want to go to either of those provinces. Do those three and you're good to go in the rest of the country too. We don't have a single, federal regulator like you do in the U.S. (FMCSA); it is all done provincially.
You won't have to re-do the same amount of work or cost for Quebec and BC, they will just be add-ons, but they have some specific rules the other provinces don't have. If you don't plan to go to those two, then getting legal in one province is good for the rest. -
