You can bill the broker if you want but it doesn't mean he will pay. Also probably won't pay you to sit two days either.
I can't speak for Brooklyn but in NY state, DE, MD, PA, VA I have done this this many times. In fact I often request a wider permit than what the broker tells me. HOWEVER, even though I have done it many times, I can't say that I have ever been inspected.
-Make sure the model number, serial number of the item you are hauling matches the permit (DOT might accuse you of using the permit twice for two different pieces).
-Make sure you are not over gross or over axle because 2 pcs makes it a divisible load.
-Make sure you have no rear over hang because 2pcs makes it a divisible load
-What states do you have escorts for? No escorts req'd for NY, PA at 12'-0". I forget the others right now.
