100% agree! I do the coordinating and safety so it gets to be a real pain. It makes it even more complicated if they get pulled over while using PC. I typically recommend that the guys use it as little as possible since it can mess with their HOS.

 

Most companies have a policy limiting it's use. Violate the policy and logs department changes it. If you're out of hours, drive 3 hours on it and they only allow 30 then you're going to have a log violation for 2.5 hours when they do. It's unauthorized use so they can fire you with cause for it. You were authorized to drive home, presumably, but only according to the hours of service. I not certain, but I believe, you can be cited for unauthorized use if stopped the same as an unauthorized passenger.
