    Yes I drive.

Odd that those who can not operate in the rules think everyone cheats.

He’s a Walmart driver. They are already used to the boot on their neck.

Yeah let me tell ya. Hard as hell running legal, spending time at home instead of dwelling at some shot hole three states away, making 100k plus a year, oh and having a good life.

Just for the record I have always advocated following the rules.

A: Itbis a social contract we all have to plan, fund, build, and maintain our roads. I would love private roads but you people lose your mind when privatization is mentioned.
B: Right wrong or indifferent if you end up in a court of law all you have is your word, Folks that consistently lie have nothing.

It’s always been on duty, long before eld, but it was easier to hide. Not sure how you track your maintenance records but if you got audited they would have to match your logs, even on paper. Or if you do stuff yourself you should log something for record keeping purposes.

Not all maintenance is on duty.

Driving to the shop is. When the truck is in the shop, and you're in the lounge, you're off duty.

Same as if you drop it there for a day or two.

You're not on duty until it's fixed.

I hardly PC at all. It's just opening the door to BS.

Ok, what if the mobile PM man comes to where the truck is parked?

Same as the mobile wash man you call when you're home?

You would have a work order from him to go in your maintenance file.

    But you're not on duty.

You might be in Vegas, and he calls and says "You need this too, blah, blah....."

You're gonna tell him handle it.

If all maintenance is on duty, you company drivers dang well better be on duty when you drop that truck of at the terminal to go on hometime and they PM it or fix it.

Correct about the mobile guy working on it while you’re off duty. If it were me and I was using a mobile person I would make sure that it was clear he was working on the truck/trailer where it was parked. Make him note the address on the ticket.

All I meant in my original post was that driving to shop was never off duty technically, and doing your own maintenance was never off duty technically. Sometimes things are clearer in my head than they are when I type them.
