Agreed, which is why I am looking for an alternative.

Call Estes express lines, abf, old Dominion, or another LTL company they will drop a trailer at your house you load it they linehaul it to your new house and drop it. When empty call and they pick it up. Yes it would be insured.

Pods are not cheap. I inquire about renting a pod to move from Virginia to Florida and they wanted almost $6000. Ajduby rent a uhaul and load it and I will drive it back east for you for $2/miles + plane ticket. Another option is to buy a container load it and get a flatbed to haul it east for you put it on uship.Com after you unload it resell it

Yeah I've thought about the container. I'm already buying a flatbed to pull behind my truck loaded with wife's car and a boat. So I would still need someone to pull the container...

Post the container on uship. You should get enough offers to make a decision

Guys, you are forgetting about insurance. Majority of trucking companies do not have household goods coverage

    Toomanybikes and ExOTR Thank this.

We could care less about insurance. If it burned or crashed oh well. That was one of the reasons we did not follow through and pay for the haul from Fairbanks. It's simply not worth it, the value of the house contents.

I used abf (upack) a while ago. Was well run and easy. A lot cheaper too. On a move from Texas to Illinois.
