    Not for hire still has a few different meanings.......that why he said not for doesn’t matter. It’s how you consider yourself to be not hire that counts.

    KEY WORD COMMERCE.

    No commerce no hiring no profit no one paying you to drive that thing etc nothing. No commerce = private vehicle.

    You can slap a tag on there and reg for the weight with the state and drive that thing to a truckshow anywhere.

    Alot bs going on in this thread. His truck, his farm equipment. All he needs is a cdl and insurance. NOT FOR HIRE. I believe he is still subject to vehicle inspection, size and weight regulations.
