    Hello,
Last week I got a ticket in my personal vehicle for failing to stop at a red light. I was at the light for over 11 minutes, thought the light was broken since the car in front of me turned, and got a ticket. CR England fired me within the same day of me, disclosing the ticket. Applied for a CRST and they would not hire me because of the ticket. Are there any companies that will hire me now with this kind of violation? I was with CR England for five years, no accidents, trainer, excellent record with them with the exception of this one ticket. Thank you for any help.

    austinmike Thanks this.

Did you plea guilty yet? You can probably get it dropped in court if you fight it, especially with a solid attorney — your reasoning for doing so is valid and any empathetic judge will probably agree.

It’s not on your MVR until you plea or are found guilty, so you’re not doomed yet hopefully.

But, even if you are found guilty, that ticket won’t ruin your career. Your 5 years experience and one (potential) moving violation is overqualified for most carriers with more leniency than megas — at least, I would think.

I didn’t think I was going to get fired, so I paid for the ticket right away and took care of it that way.

With CR England for 5 years and fired for running a red light????? Dude, there'd be not truck drivers if this were the case. In a personal vehicle to boot?
They's a WHOLE lot more to this story

No, this is the full story. I got a new supervisor who wouldn’t even hear me out. Myself and another driver got the same exact ticket, as the light was about a quarter mile from the yard. I have no reason to be dishonest here, otherwise I wouldn’t get genuine, honest responses. Thanks.

    OPE.

Always fight every ticket every time. Any moving violation is terrible.

Dude......get with the DA and explain your situation.......they're usually pretty easy to get along with. Look, all they want is your money; they're not interested is screwing up your life. Plead to something that doesn't put points on your license and move on. Again, for the most part, these guys are decent and they're not interested in screwing you over. Go talk to them and sort it out.
    Good luck.

^^^^ What LtlAnonymous and Opus said are exactly right. Always protect your CDL, and this means fighting any moving violations. If that's all you have on your driving record, the DA may work with you.

And anyone who makes it 5 years at CRE deserves a medal anyway.

    Dude. You have no idea.
Even dispatch in the office was crying when I left because I was one of the best drivers they had. I never called out and had been promoted many times through the years

    austinmike and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

See, they need to do it the Texas friendly way. Stop lights in 55 MPH zones......no chance. They send you a picture of what you did, you send them $100, and all is forgiven. Texas friendly......LOL
