You would need your own laptop to get to the net. At truckstops they have internet connections you have to pay them.I'm not sure of the cost( I believe you can pay a flat rate monthly). I have heard alot of people are sharing the connection so at times its slow.
Still better than dial up I would imagine.
Other option is air card from a cell phone provider. Its a little better than regular dail up. It works like your using a cell phone only a flat monthly rate. cost depends on where or whom you get it threw.

If you have an air card that plugs right into your laptop, it's as good as broadband most times (cable) and is very good for surfing while the truck is moving (not the driver, of course, but I travel with hubby and can work on the laptop while he drives and have internet connection 24/7)

    It's much better than dial-up.

I had a glitch in my truck that I could actually shut mine off.
You can try this when you shut down the truck shut off the key then turn the key back on and then off real quick one the qcomm starts to power up.
You have to do it quickly though. I did that durring the cooler parts of the summer when all I needed was just the vents open at night.

It got rid of those anoying beeps when I was trying to sleep:biggrin_2559:.:biggrin_25525:

You can't turn down the "incoming message" beep, but for me a small piece of tape over the speaker works just as well.
