I'm getting over 350psi on the low side with clutch engaged. Hi side was 250psi. When the press spikes on the low side comp kicks off. When it falls, compressor kicks on again. Had some freon vent on me from pressure relief valve. There is no cooling.
Recent new parts: compressor, condenser, orifice tube, evaporator, drier/accumulator and expansion valve.
What gives? Any ideas? I'm tired of forking money over to these shops only to regret it a short while later.
I have a set of gauges. Guess I'll be buying a vacuum pump in the near future as well

Don't thank I ever saw a low side gauge that went to 350? If you are getting more pressure on the low side than the high side A/C compressor hoses maybe backwards. Does the engine fan engauge?

I think he means 35 psi.
Anyhow, here is my readings after I installed compressor on my truck. I vacuumed and then added. The high side slowly climbs to 300 until the fan kicks in to cool things off. I should have took the readings with the fan on manual. But anyhow, this is what your gauges should look like. This is my 379 a few weeks ago

And if it’s not cooling right now, vacuum pump is not gonna make it start cooling.

Nope. Actually mean 350+ gauge maxed out on low pressure side

Ac magically works again. Truck was off for a few hours. Did it freeze up? Would that cause such high low pressure? When the pressure relief dumped it was nice enough to pop a few fuses for the eng fan. Looks like water temp sensor wire runs behind the compressor and the insulation was weak enough to find a ground, fun times. Learning as I go. Combination problems are best.
