It is a fact Peterbilts rides like no other truck on the road and their cabs might be about the same size, but Peterbilts pedals are set a bit further forward than KWs which gives you more room and a little more comfortable.

I got a 2016 kw 900. First kw and i love it. But it is true that it is hard to put weight on the steer axle. But the room inside is awesome. A step below a custom sleeper IMHO
BigHossVolvo and T800H Thank this. -
We have both, a W900 and a 379, both 1994 models.
On any given day if I'm given the option on what to drive, I'll pick the KW over the Pete. Both are good trucks, the KW just fits me better being tall and I like the higher ride of the KW. Both are day cabs so I can't comment on the sleepers.
At the end of the day, in the vintage I'm talking about, the KW is a better built truck IMO. We have less body and electrical problems with the KW. -
I've driven both, still prefer the 379 over the W900L

After reading this page I'm say this is the most ######## page I've ever read. Let me start off on the t800 vs w900 ride comparision. I've been in both as far as ride goes w900 wins every time. As far as 379 vs w900 it's really a toss up I've been in both and guess what thereally about the same I cant decide but my Dad who has done this for 25 years answer was "I like the Kenworth just slightly better they seem to plan it for the driver a little better. Kenworth plans like where should this light go ect but Pete is just like right there eh good enough, but both are great and I would drive either no complaint." That's not exact but close. As far as the Volo truck and engine guy goes... all I can say is holy #### your 1 lucky SOB cause our experience is exact opposite. Never been in a Volvo while moving freight but my father has and he also has one at the trucking school he works at. I asked him 1 time what was his worst truck in reliability. He said " Probable my new international's but as far as president emissions goes that Volo has been the most agravating truck." I asked what was the most reliable truck. His response "Depends on year pre-2000 trucks the Detroit beat everything here only engine that would be better is cat. But newer like 2002 and up would go to the cummins. " So to finish out my response to this absulute #### show. I have been in 2 379, 1 w900 ,2 t800 and 1 other Pete not Sure of model. Here's how I rank em. 1 the First 379X 2 the 2nd 379 3 w900 4 the unknown model Pete 5 the twin t800s. Now I've been in far worse trucks but as far as Pete v kenworth it really is opinion not really this 1 is betterrible clearly like it is in a Pete vs frieghtshaker discusion. All I can say is cat nip and ect you guys are the true no BS from this page the other guys are a bunch of complaining. ############. Except these new guys from 2016 you guys are a lot more civil but the guys from 2012... you suck.
