Here Here belltransit!!! This is way too easy to knock over and really don't deserve a response, but your tryin so hard to fit in with the bashers that it should count for somethin I guess..
If this is all you got though just make up someshit like the others do or don't even show up next time..
Don't go after the interior decorating and the cab gives you cramps stuff either cuz thats already worn out.. :banghead:

Some of you just weren't spec'd for comprehension because you don't seem to get even the most obvious concepts of "simplicity"..
Being unaware of an inability to recognize when you don't really understand means you can't really be sure of what you're actually thinkin about or lookin at..

Now.. If you are confused by any of that you should know that it's nothing more than the proper definition of being aDumbass..
I'll put the rest in laymen terms anyway so maybe everyone can relate..

Pete sleepers only have one door for much the same reason most shotguns have single barrels instead of double..
One does the trick efficiently and eliminates the extra weight and expense of putting two doors where you only need one.. And NO it's not the same logic as having dual exhaust or something having a proportion effect.. :smt066

Yeah, I always liked it when I needed to get to something where the side box door should be. Especially in a down pour. Oh well, I guess my bedding needed washing anyway.:biggrin_25525:

I am sure my wife will love that door when she is sleeping, changing clothes, etc and I want to get something out that side compartment on a cold, rainy, windy night. Got to love that little bit of 'dual purposing'. Kind of like having the back door on the house open every time you open the garage.

And people wonder why I don't like some of my fellow 'engineers' and the 'bean counters' that force such stuff into designs.

wow 359kool...i guess i really dont need to say anything more about the sleeper door. it seems your the resident peterbilt expert on here and you know the most intimate workings and engineering reasons why the petes are built the way they are?? i reread my posting and i couldnt find any bashing of any kind. i just asked a question. johnday and jmcnewbie have made two very good points on the sleeper door issue. but with all your knowledge on the pete im sure youll have a rebuttal and some kind of a put down for these two postings.

Petes come with a factory curtain that snaps in place keeping the sleeper private when opening the left bunk door...

The '97 and '99 379's I had didn't have it. They may have been removed before I got there. But still, not much thought went into that door, IMO,
among a number of antiquated items on both of them.

I will admit, and no slam to anyone, those Pete's just aren't to my liking. I don't like GM cars or shrimp either, so it's nothing personal.:biggrin_25525:

I've driven a 359 and a 379 Pete and now drive a W9. I prefer my KW over the Pete. Although the Pete was easier to get chrome parts for. I loved the style of the 359 dash but hated that I had no leg room.

My Mack is classier than both of 'em combined! :biggrin_2555:

Take it easy fellas. It's been an entertaining read though.

How about getting creative? A Pete with an aftermarket sleeper (Double Eagle, for instance)? A KW with Pete suspension? KW with Pete headlights and fenders? Don't constrain yourselves with what the factories offer.

I'm in a mischievous mood, so enjoy the wrench thrown into the works and grab some popcorn for the debate of the century!
