For OTR duty Luis.....That same suspension sucks when you have to go off-road to string pipe.........

Supatrucka...Take into consideration what kinda work i do with my truck if you will.... When were loaded were at anywhere from 70,000 to 80,000lb gross de pendin on where were runnin at the time... now you say whats the differance between that and a regular big truck... well take that (in my case) 23ton to 28ton load and strap right on your tractor..... that'll smooth out any suspension... and make it handle real funny... the air trac is for heavy haul wurk.. great on my dump, on my day cab yes its pretty rough tho good for pullin dump trailers if ya haffta go on off road alot... im not sayin an air trac is better ride than 8 bag, but in my line of work its what i prefer just for the way it handles... I like to take freinds who have only driven big trucks before, for a ride.. all is good until you put a load on er and hit the highway and the first high speed curve on the intersate lol... its the same reaction every time... start lookin for somethin to hold on to and look real nervous .... Just lean into it!! I shoulda made all this info more claer in my other post but, to each ther own , its all in what ya get used to... Funny how were all in truckin yet set-ups and preferences vary so wildly from on end to the other... i'm truck nutz so i find it all to be interestin..

My .02 FL get a bad rap I run my trucks out in the oil patch we beat the hell out of them and I have had 4 petes 3 KW 3FTL and 1 binder KW have held up the best but the 8bags ride like #### and the fuel caps suck

petes rode nice and were nice to service but the doors were always sprung

FL ride good and stay together better then the petes just the plastic switches stink

the binder was not a bad truck until you had to find parts and its plastic radiator never seemed to last very long

now going down the rode where they have an easier life I think it would be a toss up I also run a truck shop and will say the pastic wonders no matter who makes them be it a T2000 or a century are throw away garbage

On my third W900 since 2002; (due to upgrading).
First was a 1996 Areocab, 265" WB; with the AG100 suspension, rode like a dream.

#2 was a 2001 flattop, 260" WB , modular sleeper, AG400, rode like you were setting on a car hood while being dragged down a ROUGH gravel road.

#3 2004 Areocab, 265" WB; also has the AG400. Ride is better than the 2001, but nowhere near the ride of my 1996.

Good friend traded a 2002 T600 with the Areocab and AG 200 for one of those 2005 TMC black Petes with the "Flex air ride"; said he didn't think it was a better ride than the KW.
I think both Pete, and KW are excellent trucks, and for me, I just like the looks of a KW. Being a creature of habit, with the fact that I drove a KW for about 15 years while working for a company, made my decision pretty easy. I do have to say I did also look at Petes all three times I was truck shopping, and strongly considered them.

    quote:put it this way...My 379 is 12 years old...has close to 2 million miles....it rattles a little and breaks down a little.....but it's a 12 year rig....
You buy a new Freightshaker and it it's that way off the lot.....

Ive owned 5 Freightliners and dont find this to be the case but I ordered them( not lot trucks) so that may be the difference. my current 06 has 360k all east coast miles and no rattles in the dash. but either way, rattles or not Im in this for profit. everytime I do the math I end up buying another Freightliner. a friend has a 09 660 and I REALLY like that truck so...... maybe next time....still love the looks of the W9s
