I do know that after talking with some people at the Peterbilt plant in Denton that Pacar took the complaints from the T2000 and worked on them for the Pete 387. So this was supposedly a superior truck. I owned a 387 and loved it. Traded my W900 for it. I am now in the early stages of looking for a truck and I am going to get a 379. (Want a 2007 or older because of the emmision motors). You do get what you pay for. I belive the Petes and KW's are better built and you get more for your trade.
Pete vs KW!

No vehicle manufacturer makes thier own components, period.
All they do is put them together and quite possibly, the only components in a Pete or KW that are proprietory are the components of the outer cab and sleeper, if so equipt.( same is in effect for the other companies as well)
As far as electrical problems go, check your wiring harnesses on you're rig for the made in Mexico tag.
Don't get me wrong here. Nothing wrong with Pete or KW, or others for that matter. Take care of them and they'll take care of you. -
Yes, the T2000 and 387 exempt from my previous post. These trucks were never really marketed for the one truck O/O types, rather the mega fleets.
Some here have done just fine with shakers and vulvas and that's great. But I'll never buy one.
Oh, btw, I cant recall the number of times I have watched guys with shakers have to bang their door shut 3 times before it latches. LMAO -
On a side note, the Cascadia is fugly for the most part because it lacks a visor. I saw one with the visor and it was a pretty decent looking truck...that visor sure made a difference.

Much like putting a ribbon on a dog turd. It can only help.......(grin)

After looking at a picture of one with the visor it looks a lot like a Pete 387, my grandpa owns quite a few trucks right now, but his 3 most recent are 2 KW T2000's, a 2001 w/ a Detroit 14.0 550hp and a 2009 w/ a Cummins ISX 550hp, and a 2008 Pete 387 w/ a Cummins ISX 515hp. All are white and the 387 (my personal favorite) has the chrome front bumper and the chrome guards in front of the tandems, all aluminums, dual stacks, O/O fully loaded, that is a sexy truck.
He drives the '09 T2000 now though, his other drivers have the other trucks. Here is a pick of the '01 T2000 back in '06...it still looked brand new.

? Sorry couldn't resist that one! Anyway, thats a simple fix, replace the door pin or crack a window so the compression doesn't push the door back open.
As for the turd with a ribbon.... is that why they put a set of cans on the T800's?? -
We could have a thread asking which is better - Virgin rubber or re-caps. While the answer is quite obvious to most everyone, it's a safe bet that the few guys who run re-caps would trash those who run virgins, only because those who own re-caps want to defend what they own, instead of admitting there's a better option.
We could also have a thread asking who's hotter - Rossie O'donnell or Eva Longoria. Most guys will take Eva, but there will be a small few who have only ridden the Rossie types, and will come to her defense.
"Freightliner envy" is as oxymoronic as "respectable congressman"
Grin....qtip Thanks this. -
