Hey your the one constantly talking about them...LOL. Who's Eva Longoria?
Don't be bustin on my caps...
Back to the subject.... KW and Pete are nice trucks, I like the KW layout better than the pete myself, as long as there isn't a wall behind the seats.
All trucks are built about the same depending on the model you get. The fancier the model of truck the better the interior will be.
Pete vs KW!

That is exactly the thought they want you to have.
Speak with a few of the Peterbuilt Employess in Denton Tx.
If their experience isnt enough try a chat with a Recovery Truck Driver(Tow Truck) they'll tell you what
trucks fold up worse then others in a crash.
Sleepr construction and wiring are determining factors in
running the highest maintence pig on the Interstate ?
Profit is the Bottomline !

I've drive a KW t2000, a KW t600, and a Pete 379. My preference goes to the Pete. Comfortable ride; nice, big, DARK sleeper; and in my case, easier to back into some tight spots than the shorter wheelbase trucks. But mine was a somewhat older Pete, had all the early bugs associated with any new truck already beaten out of it. It was reliable as all heck, too. I wasn't too comfortable in either of the KWs. The T2000 was an alright truck, turned easy and backed easy, but I found the cab to be kinda crowded. The T600 felt like an inbetweener truck. Not a short wheelbase, not really a long wheelbase. The cab felt almost claustophobic, but the aerodyne sleeper made up for that. However, I was constantly pulling on my left Achille's tendon when I moved from the driver's seat into the sleeper.

I've always preferred KW over Pete simply for the room in the cab but you can't beat the Pete 379 for being one cool looking ride.

The OP civilian vehicle is an F350 superduty. Its a 1 ton truck. He doesnt do Prius' and hybrids. He does big iron. He's a man. He wants a man's truck. He wants a HOOD. He asked about Pete and KW. A Volvo is the truck of choice for the rookie fleet driver, female driver or the really fat truck driver. A Cascadia is a cabover with a hernia.
This guy is asking about HOODs. He want to be an outlaw. The only thing an outlaw trucker does in a sleeper is sleep. He's not about trashing around in truckstops watching TV and hiding in the sleeper radio ramboing. He want to truck, not hog the buffet line.
2 questions:
1. Riding solo, or is mama joining you?
2. What kind of wagon are you wanting to pull?
If you are young and solo, nothing says outlaw like a flattop Pete. Window in the back of the sleeper, 290 inch wb and 8 inch mitered pipes. I myself would have a Pete, but there are several things that gave KW the nod.
1. That Peterbilt clutch pedal setup. Cant stand it. No wonder Pete owners set their seats on the floor.
2. The cathedral grill of the W9. Unmistakable. The Hood of hoods.
3. Daylight doors. Love em.nitetride379x Thanks this. -
Sure I won't disagree that KW's and Pete's are nice trucks, I owned several W900's, all were beautiful trucks,
Unfortunaly they have the aerodynamics of a brick, back when fuel was much cheaper it wasn't so bad, but now, if you can't get good fuel mileage you ain't making any money. I don't care about cool if it doesn't make me money.
Anyway, I have a 2008 W900 that I will sell you, it is a gorgeous truck, beautiful interior, lucky to get 5 mpg so it won't make you any money, so if you just want to drive around and look cool and not care about making money, then it is the truck for you.
From what I hear about these Cascadias is that they are getting great fuel mileage right out of the box, and they are quiet. My friend traded his Western Star for one and he couldn't be happier, he says he's not crazy about the looks of it but it is making him almost $500 a week more in his pocket compared to the Star. I would take an extra $500 a week over looking cool anyday.
I think these square-nosed trucks are eventually going to go the way of the dinosaur, just like the old cabovers, and that is coming from someone who has only owned square-nosed trucks. I'm sure a lot of people are going to get mad at me for saying itNative Dancer Thanks this. -
However, Kenworths have a very spacious sleeper, but they sit higher than a Peterbilt which I find not very desirable. -
Zangief Thanks this.

I own a pete 379.. Gotta say Pete makes a truck to last longer.. I've driven just about every brand truck. The fit and finish, materials seem to be of better quality in Paccar than Volvo and Freightshakers.. I.H. too..
My point.. You see pleanty of 20 year old Petes and KW's on the road but few if any Freightliners, Volvo's, Mack or I.H.
I have to say KW has more room.. their W-900 w/ a studio sleeper has way more room than the sleeper on the Pete. It's personal prefferance, are you wanting room, or everything # your fingertips? I personaly don't care if I can stand up in the drivers seat or not.. or do jumping jacks in the sleeper. As long as it's comfortable I'm happy. The resale value is higher on the Pete's w/ KW a close 2nd. I'd say Freightshaker & Volvo are towards the bottom.. Sure they initialy cost the same new but 6 years later.. The Pete 379 will be worth more..
