Every time I read a sentence I run out of breath. He means it has hood over the engine. Where have you been? It is not a cabover! Try some punctuation. Petes that old need new bushings on the hood and
usually wear between the rear of the hood and cowl.I'd well a truck with 420K on it because the warranty is good til 500K. Can be costly and you don't get as good a writeoff over 4 yr.

Non-Aerodynamic is what he means I'm sure.
Pete with a N14...?? If I was in a situation to "trade even" I would trade, that Pete will hold it's value better IMO. If you get it make sure you share pics.

I could be wrong but I don't think you guys read his post completely. His friend has a 379 there is no mention of if it is a extended hood or not. The poster has a freghtliner classic that is just sitting in his yard not being used. His question is should he trade his classic for the 379 or atleast that is what I read

The term "Hood" doesn't mean that its not a COE. When was the last time you saw a new cab over? "Hood" refers to EXHD 379/389 or a W-9, Freightshaker Classic, etc... Many new trucks have sloped hoods that you can't even see from the drivers seat, a "hood" has a big hood that some guys think makes them a super trucker.

I hate to tell you these trucks are still going in the $60,000s in many cases. I've recently priced 4 or 5 2003s with my exact specs. All were over. $60,000. I got mine for $38,000 over a year ago and I did quite well on that. Course mine has a 6NZ but still. If you can find me Petes with my specs for $25,000...CALL ME! I'll buy all of them! lol

I should say $60,000s asking price but I seriously doubt they will go for $25,000.

I like all the "super trucker" comments from all the haters cuz they don't have one.

Anything with a factory Cat motor will draw a premium since obviously you can't get one anymore, but the N14 motor is a good one too. Hood truck with Caterpillar is going to be premium+ money. Add another "+" if it's pre-emissions.

I would let somebody else spend their money on a truck that will cost you $10,000 more in fuel each year. Its ALL about money and profit. Run what you have and save your money.

I don't care what kind of price anyone posts on a 379. If it's been rode hard and put up wet like the one Hurst looked at it ain't gonna sell for squat. $25K would be overpriced for that unit which probably doesn't even have papers on the alleged inframe. That will be $20,000 right out the gates. I'd like to know who is out there really paying some of the high prices I see on equipment. $60,000 for a Pete with a 6NZ that's 13 years old, you gotta be kidding me? It must be pristine. I've got what I thought was a fair price on my trailer right now and only have offers below what I'm asking. And mine is priced a couple even several thousand cheaper than similar trailers I see in truckpaper. So I have to ask who is paying these inflated prices for equipment cause they sure haven't been calling me. Maybe when I post it in truckpaper my phone will blow up. Not gonna hold my breath. And for the record a hood is big and square. Like a Classic, W9, or 379. VNL's, Centuries, and T600's don't qualify as real hoods. LoL
