Or if you had to unload the Pete (or KW) you could still get a pretty penny for it.

If you really want to go O/O, what about a (BLASPHEMY ALERT you Pete lovers) KW T600. It will still hold good resale (better than a freightshaker or Volvo) and it is much more aerodynamic than a square nose. Just a though, I agree that while nothing looks finer than, say a 359 flattop (with quad round lights and straights), that's not neccessarily the best way to go business wise.

Wall is right in my book.I've actually seen a few 600s that were very tastefully fixed up and I thought looked really sharp,but what he was REALLY right on about was the 359 flattop.lol.

Hahaha the long hood is for bigger motors! Thats a good one! Buuut you can get the same motors in a cute little shorty hooded petercar.

I'd take a W-9. But IMHO Pete has all the class hands down.. except for a few models... Some you just look at and ask yourself.. what in the #### were they smokin that day?

Nothin beats a flattop 359, 378 (some of em), or a 379. On that note, same goes for 352's and 362's.

I drove a T-600 with a C-15/10 spd for a few months. Really enjoyed that truck. Nice, quiet, penty of power. Rode good. 72" bunk was real nice. The step down took alot of head bumpin and getting used to. Weed burner exhaust sucked, but what can ya do when its not yours? I'm sure bossman would've liked to see me pull up with a pair of chrome sewer pipes stuck to the sides but that just wasn't gonna happen.

 

LOL....I'm a BIG fan of the 281-351 '54-'76....I like the butterfly hood look a lot better than a roll over hood although they can be a real bearcat to work on unless you are a contortionist.The inside of those old cabs have a lot of flat panels that look cool replaced with diamond plate with the background painted to match the exterior.If you can find a pic of one, check out an A64 Autocar thats been dolled up and see what you think of them 379x

Although I've seen a lot of cool looking COE trucks I wouldn't have one if you gave it to me if I had to work it everyday.Not my style.

 

The first 379 I drove had 550,000 miles on it. The second one was brand new. Thats when I found out why drivers like them so much.The second truck drove as good as the first one !!!

 

I drive a short nosed 379 with a 15L Cummins ISX. Company I work for also has C-15 cat short nosed 379s.

It's strictly about looks and ride.

 

The company driver's that drive volvo's often ask me why I like the 'Pete.

I tell them that I can buy a cup of coffee, take the lid off and leave it in the cup holder and still get to drink most of it. Try that in the volvo and you'll have to stop and wash out the inside of the cab.

Now if I was paying for the fuel, I'd just have to buy a stainless coffee cup with a good lid.

 

Thats right. I'm not very fond of a short hood, but its better for local work. Alllthough i just got a new steering box on my shorty 379 and it has a swing thats worse than a ext hood now. Somethings not right with it...

First truck I drove as a solo driver was a 379... but it had issues. I liked it for everything but the engine. Very weak.

Put it in the shop, they gave me another 379. VERY happy with this one. better mileage, fewer miles, more oomph climbing hills.

Same ride.

So far, I've put the truck/trailer in every dock I've needed to (including one where -once I was in - there was a tree about 2 feet from my front bumper)

They've told me I'm getting a different truck before the end of the year, but I'm arguing against it.

 

So, what's the difference between the Pete's and KW's if both made by paccar???

On the KW site they claim it's the best and offer more info and options for a truck than the Pete site...

What do you guys think of the Aero trucks to the Traditionals???
