Its like chevy & gmc... they both claim to have the best this and that but they are still on the same platform. Yeah a KW and a petercar are very different in many ways but are the same in many ways as well. I like them both so don't get me wrong...
I don't mind the aero trucks... but I can't stand the wide cab. thats one of the reasons I like a T-600 so well... areodynamic but still has a skinny cab. I drove a midroof shaker columbia for a hot minute and kept running over the fog line because I am so used to the lines I take in the pete.
But thats just me and my opinion.

Long hood = your mechanic loves you.

you're an idiot making a statement like that. And you just proved it to everyone. What the hell does that have to do with anything?
after rereading the post I'm not exactly sure which way you meant this to be taken so I may be the idiot.Last edited: Sep 30, 2008

Easy to work on? I dont have a mechanic though, frankly i dont want someone fondling my fine tuned machine!
-
Ah, WTF is your problem? And, what do you think I mean?
My post has as much relevance as any in this thread.
What I did mean is that a long nose is a hell of a lot easier to work on than a short nose or aero truck because the back half of the engine isn't in the cab. Hence, as several mechanics have told me, they prefer working on a long nose.
BTW, if you're that tense ... go rub one out.
-
Best stress relief right there!
Pete_379X Thanks this. -
Not a lot of difference if you're working on a long hood pete or a short hood. I wouldn't want to work on many of the aero trucks though. I've found its not as easy to monkey around the motor.

That's what I realized after it was pointed out to me which is why I edited it. I thought you were saying a big hood would keep your mechanic happy because it would always be in the shop and I just couldn't figure that one out. If anything you can argue the opposite since the aero trucks usually have such small radiator openings they run hotter.
that's what I get for posting when I'm delirious with the flu -
Yeah, that would certainly keep their wallet happy.

How much more mileage are you really getting with an aero?
They run that much hotter to cause any problems?
