Peterbilt 389 vs Pete 579

Rreeeallly wanted the 86' couch/upper bunk combo but got a great deal on a 72' and since I'm only out 10~12 days at a time I went with the good deal. It fits my application well. Its light, i can haul 53k no problem and pull the grades with it. Just a little bumpier on the shorter wheelbase but not enough to notice and I average 6.7mpg.

 

388 is a smaller hood only difference.

 

I've been places where I was glad I had that short nose.... man I can swing this thing into any parking lot. As far as handling, KW has a little bit of 'sway' or body roll that i wasn't used to from the Pete but I don't notice it anymore.
