Slow, unless your pumpin out huge watts i would go above lmr 240,even then with 240 your good for ALOT of power....
My concern with those petes is the distence between antennas and how sturdy the mount itself to the truck will be IF there is not some good sheet metal there....
An idea given to me that i would love to try is run a piece of ss across the back wall and out the sides behind the flairing with some cophased coax and ant....The ss joins both ant to the back wall creating some good gp and ss being a non rusting metal would also be mice for a cpl lights as well..
Peterbilt 579 antennas.

FIRESTICK COMMUNICATIONS reports in a 1997 .pdf that down to four-foot spread with co-phase can be made to work.
As to SS, I priced 1/8” in a length to join fairings and a little more. $300+ all day long.
I’m game to try most anything, but that won’t be first.
I’m waiting on Clays CB Shop to get the SS mirror mounts made. The 7’ Skipshooters will be first or second. (As a new pair of 102” is en route; need them anyway, so freakazoid on the Pete will be tried). -
In the meantime I’m making this work.
I agree about strength potential on the factory roof option. It’s a concern. -
You mean the ss mounts for mirror? Didnt they already make them and didnt you post pics?
-
We got them made for new model Cascadia. What you should be using.
Just did take-off on 579 a few weeks ago. -
Ohhhhh..ok
-
Im still courious to see if my idea will work..Just gotta get off my butt and go to a machine shop and havem make one the same shape as how mirror mounts to the door, then have a stud come off that anout 8" to mount ant to...Orrrr the big duel ant mount that was suggested to me that i posted to you here..
-
With the 102 them buggers are gonna sway more than the skipper will..Gonna have to come up with an anti sway idea for them.. -
Had a text message today that the 579 mounts will have an integrated stud; so they’ll be somewhat different after all.
The 102”s are for other projects. But it’ll be fun to test them.
Went looking today for potbelly SS spring. High quality. Found them. CAL-AV. Start at just over $100 (wow). -
Watched a trk go by me the other day in va..Lol dang ant was on a big ole spring and the entire thing was waveing like crazy..A wet cooked noodle woulda been a stiffer choice..
