Looking to buy a truck somewhere around the 2013-2016 year range. I have shifted my focus onto the American Classic Peterbilt. I have trouble finding what exactly the differences are between these trucks.
I will be pulling a 53 foot flatbed, spread axle, and do need to haul a 45k coil every now and then.
Im not looking for comfort, just reliability, aerodynamics, and lighter weight?
What do you guys think is the better choice?
Both with Cummins and 13spd, the axles im pretty sure i want the Air Leaf...

587 is a wind leak having, noisy inside, ugly as sin pos of a truck. Oh, and it's pretty much all plastic
PolishPrince Thanks this. -

One thing i dont like about the 579 is the driver side box when opened also opens into the sleeper... that seems like it would be a bit of a PITA on a windy day...

Weren't you going to do the lease at Schneider?
HalpinUout Thanks this. -
Anyone know which mid roof between the two is lighter in weight? Cant seem to find dry weights for them anywhere.

easy, 579. the 587 is a fleet truck which is clearly based off the 387 which had some electrical problems. 579 is premium over the 587 but if you want a real american classic you'd want the 389
