    Whio says the 579 is "hard on steers?" It just came out a couple months ago?

    And to the "Peterbilt/Kenworth" siblings comment.....do you have a brother/sister? Are you not smarter and better looking than them? Same with Peterbilt vs. KW.....we got the better genes!

    I apologise. I heard that aerodynamic trucks in general were tough on the steers.

    Yes, it is true, with the set back steer axle there lot of weight on it constantly, but the axle and suspension designed to handle it. At 1.4 million miles no problem at all. I use only Michellin tires only on steer axle. The last set of XZA lasted 250.000 miles. Now Michellin claims, the new XZA+ can last 30% more. In the real word I do not know yet, but looks good. And same time, I have much better turning ability. I can turn around on a four lane county road without backing. However, the main advantage of aero trucks, you can buy lot of tires on the money, what you save on the fuel.
