I’m thinking it will be similar to a Western Star where the breather sort of hides the transition from the hood to the cowl. I’m not saying it isn’t higher than the hood, I’m saying you won’t see the one on the passenger side sticking above the hood unless the picture was taken in line with the top of the hood. The angle is below the top of the hood pointing up, so you’re not going to see something on the opposite side that’s only a few inches higher than the hood.
Somehow Peterbilt just decided not to have an unvailing of the new replacement to the 389, lol, people are easily duped. So far the only replacement to the 389 is the 389X. This is a limited edition and very pricey.
You’re right because they would never build any test trucks and nobody has a phone in there pocket every place they go now. I would bet that there are some of these in Washington right now that are dark blue with silver frames.
I guess we can wait and see what the interior looks like and if it’s different than the Platinum interior in my truck then I guess it’s safe to say he was correct a couple months ago.
It’ll be unveiled at Mid-America when it does happen.. Fact is it’s all about creating a buying frenzy for the 389 and making a killing doing it. Just like when they announced the 379 being discontinued everyone was led to believe it would be the last of the classic hood trucks…which created a buying frenzy. It’s a about market strategy and maximum profit…something Peterbilt understands well.
With the new Kenworth T-680E hitting the market you may do very well with your stock. I got a hunch that truck will be a huge success..much greater than the ugly Betty Tesla truck.. Just noticed that you are in Ma, not far from where I grew up and spent most my life on the Cape.
