You could Probabaly sell your spot in line for a lot more than $1,500

Did you order? Or was it on the lot?

If ordered. How long did it take?

I was about to order a chev or dodge. But now I'm hearing stories of dealers selling orders to people offering more money.

Yes, but the dealer absorbs it. He’s mentioned it to me that his already thin margins were now ultra thin. This was probably 4 months ago though. Hopefully if a truck was ordered that long ago it’s locked in.

I've been hearing the same thing is going on at the local farm implement manufacturer. Up to 10% I believe it was on a new feeder wagon a few months ago when steel was apparently nearly impossible to get.

I am ready to cut a check for a new order this week.

I have a quote from two weeks ago that is supposed to be good until next week and there isn’t a surcharge. I already told the sales dweeb’s manager who approved the quote that this is a contract, not subject to increases and will paid in full when the order is made, so they will have to eat the cost or all orders will be canceled.

they are using this crap about a chip shortage but the chip shortage for car production is caused by the car companies not ordering the parts, the truck parts shortage is because of a lack of labor due to a national shutdown of the economy last year and still hasn’t caught up to demand.

Not so long ago dodge dealers were advertising $15k off sticker on pickups

Ford and chevy dealers were advertising $10k off sticker on pickups.

I bought four Ford pickups for my business, two were so deeply discounted that I paid almost nothing with the trade ins because the dealer has said no one wanted them and they have go even if they are going to take a loss. I found out after i bought the first one that Ford told some dealers with vehicles on their lot over one model year they will not get an allotted amount of vehicles to sell. I worked with the dealer to find the others, the second one was on a lot in New York for 14 months.

Stupid people born every day. Stop buying for 6 months. They will offer you 1500 to buy.

Maybe the dealer wants you to cancel because he has a customer that he can sell the truck you ordered for a higher price.
