#### man that sucks. What are your RPM's running most of the time? How many miles do you have on it now? I know you was looking forward to getting back home after being out so long.

Derate alert went away but I still got a “Exhast system” alert. Probably get the derate message back if I try driving again…
Been noticing the nasty regen smell that I used to get on my previous T-680..just figured it was someone else’s truck..
Going to flip the battery disconnect for awhile and see if that clears the alert.. To me it sounds like my DPF filter is clogging up..but I don’t know jack about these emissions systems.
Plane tickets are only around $450 to get me home if it’s going to be stuck at the dealership for awhile..
May attempt to run it again and see what happens..Derate said I had 2 hours left so we will maybe take a gamble. -
Does it otherwise run fine?
Did you try the start it and let it run for at least 1 minute and turn it off, do that 4 or 5 times. Mine clears most codes that way.Concorde Thanks this. -
A lot of those codes that can "self clear" require x number (usually only 4 or 5) of "trips" (engine needs to run for 1 minute to be counted as a 'trip'). I've only had 1 needed an injector on #6 with the ominous countdown that wouldn't go away.

Do any of you have an APU on your truck or an idle program set up or do you let the truck just run all the live long day?
Concorde Thanks this. -
one thing I have read a lot about is how the emissions don’t like those High RPM’s. Most people are saying you need to be under 1400 on the newer engines to keep the heat in the engine to do the job needed. Mine is set up to be 12-1300. Some say that running the fuel additive helps it burn more complete especially on the higher rpm’s. This is supposed to keep the emissions down.Concorde Thanks this. -

This one does what I believe to be a regen every few hours if I idle and sometimes if I’m in traffic. Last 15 minutes. I never see the regen light on my dashboard either. Never got a Park regen alert..
I do a lot of heavy loads and run mostly in the mountains so it isn’t an issue with engine not getting hot enough. Unfortunately I have been idling a lot lately but I’ve been dealing with some very cold temperatures all winter..just the other day woke up to 10 degrees. Otherwise my truck is programmed not to idle between 40-80 degrees.
I really don’t like idling if I can avoid it..
Starting to think that something hasn’t been right since day one.. It’ll go to about 850? Rpm’s sound real throaty at the air breathers and runs that way for 15 minutes..gets the engine hot. My last Pete did it but maybe just a couple times a week. Both trucks never showed a regen light.Siinman Thanks this. -
My new truck does that. I get an alert in the dash saying it’s going to start a dpf warmup and that it’s ok to drive if necessary. It automatically bumps the rpm up a little and and does something to put a load on the engine to build heat. My torque and boost gauges go up while it’s doing it.
