One of the companies running Petes, was doing mostly tank and buying C-13 engines formerly in 378 Petes and lately in aero, and have started buying Kenworth instead because of supposedly intractable problems with the new Petes, they wouldn't buy anything but a small Cat before, and now are buying, and having trouble with, the MX.

There is less reason now for the difference between a 388 and a 389, the big one was weight, you need less length and weight to haul a smaller engine. Bulk applications liked to keep weight to a minimum.

I saw what appeared to be a 386 or probably a 586 hooked to a lowboy, set back axle, split fenders and headlight assembly from a 379, with a DEF tank and Tri-pac tucked under a Uni-built sleeper.

Cascadias are available with a 113" BBC (short hood) and a 125" (long hood) largest motor available in the 113 Cascadia is a DD13, I have 8 of them. I ALSO have a 384 Pete 115 BBC (short hood) largest motor available in that ruck is C-13 Cat.

I would never drive a long nose truck. I did it as a loaner truck and hated it. No visibility, no room, loud, turning sucked, seats were crap, ride was awful. If my company tried to stick me in a long nose again I'd hand them the keys and head home.

You have never drove a peterbilt American class and low leaf air. I don't get the no visibility part I have no trouble seeing out of mine. Mines quiet in cab and I get around the elevators just as good as the freightshakers and aero trucks

I agree with 7.3 cowboy. And it depends on make of truck my 379 long hood turns way better than my brothers W900B. Also I have read on another forum that you can order a Paccar made truck with a wider front axle to give them a better turning radius.
