I have a Freightliner that I can go on to the Freightliner site and search by my VIN for any part on my truck.
Does Peterbilt have such a thing? This would be for a 1990 Peterbilt.

Not as far as I know. Looking for a breakdown of anything specific?

Nothing online for us common folk. Probably half the time I spend working on my truck is tracking down the parts it needs. I just ordered new headlight springs through a Blue-Bird bus dealer. Lots of googling part numbers and cross referencing.
My local dealer is nice enough to print out schematics for me if I'm trying to figure something out. They printed out the build sheet too, which has been fairly helpful.Dino soar Thanks this. -
At the moment I'm just looking for a breakdown of how the front Springs and the front piece that holds the radiator and engine mount and bumper all bolts together. It isn't really anything critical if I can't see a breakdown of it. It's a 1990 Peterbilt 357 dump truck setback front axle.
I just think that is really cool that I can just log onto my computer and see everything that's on my Freightliner according to the VIN, with the original engine and transmission, the rear ratio, all the wiring, cab parts, engine mounts, part numbers, etc.
It's just so simple to see the diagrams and get the part numbers, I was hoping Peterbilt would have something similar.
I guess I'll have to come back on when I need something else more specific or hit the dealer. -
The last 6 numbers of your VIN will be all that Peterbilt needs to identify any part and pull any schematic for your truck.
I have been able to find a builders manual for all of my Pete's online by searching for the year and model builder manual; these are not specific to your truck so they cover every possible configuration but it is not hard to find your own configuration for each item by looking at the diagrams.Dino soar Thanks this. -
They do, but not for free. It's called ECAT and you need a dealer sponsor to get it. We have Fleet ECAT that gives us access to all of our VIN's for $300/yr. There may be a cheaper option for owner ops, I'm not sure, you'd have to ask a dealer.

That would be sweet to be able to see all the schematics. Certainly would speed things up and I bet they would sell more parts.
PAI has loads of schematics. You have to register to access the catalogs:
