Pride in Crap Peterbilt never fails to deliver..

Was needing new left side control buttons for my 2023 smart wheel. Specifically the cruise control negative button wasn’t working unless you put an extreme amount of pressure on it..like two thumbs worth.

Asked if they had them in stock and was basically laughed at. First they said I’d have to replace the entire wheel and that they were insanely expensive. Then I asked well how much because I need one. The how much didn’t get answered because they said the wheel is back ordered into oblivion.

Just a fwiw if you own one or considering buying a Peterbilt. Just like the throttle position sensor, you got to buy the entire pedal assembly which I believe is $3,500.00

My second Peterbilt and definitely my last, tired of the big ripoff.

I’m going to press the issue tomorrow and get the actual cost and update the thread.

Picture is the cluster I need but have to buy the entire crap wheel.. IMG_5421.jpeg

    That is insane.

Volvo has an issue with the little cruise control boot that goes over the button. They tend to get wore out and want to fall off but it all still works. I know you can buy the control parts but not sure how much for the Volvo's. The middle set button Is the one I am talking about. Screenshot 2024-07-17 at 9.51.46 PM.png

The right side cluster on the Peterbilt has a small roller wheel to change the dash display. Every time I palm the wheel when turning I spin the fluffin pos. Got to set it where you want it and Gorilla Glue it permanently in place.

Really miss my 2021 before the digital dash, smart wheel nonsense. The 21 was absolutely perfect the way they had the cruise control switches on the dash.

Truck is in the shop right now or I would have posted a better picture.

Just sitting stewing over the nonsense with Peterbilt bs.

Truck dealership customer service sucks. They only cater to fleets. Don't you just love buying a $200,000 truck then some smug smart ### behind the parts counter won't answer a simple question.

The steering wheel controls are in high demand but usually available to order next day. Water leaks and or drinks get spilled on the wheel controls which runs down into the electrical connector and causes corrosion.

When you decide to replace it. Apply a dab on dielectric to the smart wheel connection under the horn pad.
