they are made out of plastic and fiberglass, every part on the outside is 1 or the other, and terrible to get a good ground plane for a cb. whereas the other 386/388/389 etc, have metal sleeper/cab/roof/door panels, the only body panel on the 386 that is fiberglass is the hood, everything else is metal.

Ok, besides that, what is the problem? I mean the ground for the CB is below my scale 1-10- he he, I can run the cable to the chassis.

    corvette is fiberglass

body work and repairs are much more costly due to panels being molded, plus fiberglass is heavier than sheet metal.

ok, how about other then body work? I mean fiberglass could be a plus because it will not rust and somewhat easier to fix - depends on the level of the damage then metal.

like I said before if all things were equal, I would not buy the t2/387 simply due to the electrical issues, trust me it gets expensive for electrical parts/ecu's/labor/diagnostics on these trucks over any other truck. and it will be a matter of time before the electrical gremlins start popping up, not if but when. usually the serious problems in these trucks show up around 500, 000 miles, I know as I worked at a pete dealer for 3 years and am still a diesel mechanic.

    Magnum1 Thanks this.
