metal trucks are aluminum not steel. they don't rust. except fords, they were steel.

if you bend a metal panel you drill out a few rivits and hang a new one.

also the trucks with seperate cabs and sleepers are more easily repaired if damaged since they are two pieces instead of one big one

any, the connectors on the main harnesses under the hood and along the frame are like the connectors for a qcomm harness, multiple pins and they screw together, allowing salt, corrosion, moisture to creep in and do wonderful things. the ecu behind the glovebox controls everything in the cab, it has computer type connectors, and if 1 of the cables frys or the ecu frys, it will not start nor will you have any power inside. I could go on and on but dont feel like typing that much, like I said the choice is ultimately yours, but trust me if you are buying one of these used, if you keep it long enough you will regret it, unless you get the 1 in 500,000 that doesnt have all the common problems.

the 386 pete we have been discussing is good, although not as plentiful in the used truck market as others, the kw t600, international 9400, not a prostar that is a whole other discussion, then of course you have hoods kw w900/pete379/388/389/ fl classic xl's, alot of those right now because werner is in a trade cycle, and the other freightliners

no, those 2 things dont happen together! the petes aren't that bad, but there is no such thing as having a hood and turning tight.

I like 386 but at roughly 20k higher + 50K price wise is kind of hitting the pocket book.
