Sure you can calculate something wrong or make a mistake somewhere. But you can tweak it too. I'm not getting into every insane scenario so you can try to make a point or win. If you do your job the right way, you'll never have a problem that you can't fix. I'm no genius or super trucker and it seems to work fine for me and every driver I know who runs e-logs. You have some unfounded fear or some cowboy mentality that prevents you from thinking that these actually aren't as horrible as you make them out to be. If e-logs were that bad, then why hasn't the industry come to a screeching halt? Ill tell you why. Because they work. They make companies and drivers more efficient. That's a proven fact. Not just my opinion

Companies need to keep quality drivers. CSA and e-logs heightened the bar, not lowered it.

No. I didn't need to be on e-logs. Apparently you haven't been around that long. That's how we did it. There was trucking long before you were a thought in your parents heads and DOT wasn't like the way they are now.

Whats funny is I can show you numbers stating these E-log running company's are dangerous compared to some paper running company's. Just because YOU think E-logs make a driver more efficient doesn't mean they are good for the industry nor the people on the road. I can show you alot of company's numbers that show (yes less driver violation) but alot more truck violations, unsafe driving, and every other category. I think I would rather have less efficienty than be unsafe. I will see you on paper logs within a couple years. As soon as the mandate is put in the cattle barn where it belongs most company's will go back to running paper as they have realized paper is better for the business.

Joseph, your wasting your breath. The people on this forum will never get it. When trying to get truckers to understand something, It's like teaching arithmetic to a retarded ####roach.

i'll be the first to admit i havent been in the industry as long as some but what i dont agree with is someone stating that elogs are the best thing since sliced bread that they are the wave of the future and all that jazz but on the same thread in the same pages pretty much bragging about how he would run cross country in 2-2.5 days. doesnt that sound the least bit Hypocritical to you? of course not i'll be honest i used to run with the best of them guys with 20-30 more expierence i'd keep right up with them if not surpass them because of my age. am i proud of it no? do i brag about? nope do i tell people about it? yes if they ask i quit doing it because i didnt want to be the guy on the 11:00 news that ended running though a school bus and kill 5 kids did i need a computer to learn that valuable lesson not in the least. you may u dont need the friggin things but i think the second they came out with in a year ud be back to your old ways just the way u brag about it
