If they work for you that is good. More power to you to use them. The rest of us have a system that is working, and evidently is working SAFELY. But don't force it on the rest of us.

 

Therein lies the problem, gokiddogo. Too many people insisting THEIR way is the only way anything can be done.

Is this any different from people who insist THEIR faith is the only faith, and those who believe differently should be put to death?

and as for 4200 miles on elogs. in a governed truck. i don't think sooooooo. if i can't do it with wide open throttle on paper. what makes you think you can do it on elogs. maybe if you never stopped. PERIOD. but we al know you gotta fuel. which takes longer then your 7 minutes you claim. 1/2 hour is more realistic. and we all know you gotta deliver and pick up your loads. IN THE CITIES AND TOWNS. WITH STOP LIGHTS. and if you drive around the country like you claim. well, we got some mountains out here on the west that can REALLY SLOWWWWWWWW UUUUUUUUUUUUU down.

as for smarter. i don't think sooooooooooooo. you just like to run like a slave. becuase your on the clock.

better trip planning. again i don't think sooooooooooooooo. you can't forsee the future. and you certainly can't plan to park somewhere. cuz we all know what a beach it is these days to find parking. with half the truckers doing there 10.

how come you need to trip plan. and all i do is DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE. i get my load. and i deliver. i program my gps. i do my log. release the brakes and just go. i never plan my trips. how come you do?????

driving smarter. you can manipulate your E LOGS for smartness. but you don't drive smarter. you have to drive. and while your swerving through the lanes becuase you have to drive that full 11. the rest of us are driving ALERT. now that's a smart driver. we know how to do out logs. we don't need a leash.

you say elog keeps you from getting pulled into the scales. how come i run paper and HAVE NEVER BEEN PULLED INTO THE SCALES. except for permits check and 2 citations becuase of the loads.

i've got a few lvl 3's from the highway patrol. but have yet to be put out of service. and have never been inspected by the scales.

NOW THAT'S A SMART DRIVER.

 

there is no proven facts that elogs work. only for dispatch.

there is however lots of evidence in the way of accidents that prove they are harmful. they force you to drive tired.
we live and work in a unrealistic profession. elogs aren't meant for those unrealistics.

 

Again....Elogs are (Technologically wise) just like GPS units.....And those ##### ECMs....Guaranteed to fail.....

i kjnow windows 8 sucks. didn't you see my thread in the electronics section. LOL. i warned about it when it was in release for beta testing. i installed. played with it for a 1/2 hour. couldn't uninstall because msft doesn't give that option now. had to format the hard drive.

and last time i was in new yawk. it took me 9 hours to drive that 24 mile stretch over the GW.

i feel sorry for them 25 million folks that have to stick with that 3 lane freeway.
