don't you think you'd just see more truckers for less pay?

How about less truckers for more pay? A lot of drivers coming into the profession are leaving as quickly as they came in. I'm about to agree with WCP here. Mark it on the calendar. They have no idea how to work and no idea how to deal with things that don't go their way 100% of the time. CSA will take care of some of them and the sheer fact that the some can't (or won't) handle it. Chaining? There's drivers who've been out here 10-20 years who won't do it. Ask some how to Pretrip a truck. The right way. You'll see dumbfounded faces. Their idea of a Pretrip is getting out and pissing on the tire. As for e-logs, some of them couldn't imagine working an 8 hour day without a nap, let alone 14. The number of people who actually belong out here and will stay is shrinking, and its bad for the companies but good for the real professional drivers.

a city cop overriding a federal law, i doubt if a state trooper would have told him to move
the driver should have driven right into a ditch as soon as he left the property, blamed it on fatigue and being forced to drive while fatiguedgokiddogo, volvodriver01 and Cowpie1 Thank this. -
This is cyclical....When ever the market cycle swoons as it always will.....People get into trucking because it's "Easy and offers big money...".....
Anyone who grew up in the 60's and the 70's might remember the Dootson commercial with the rotund driver exulting the virtues of trucking.....And the "I'm Debbie Dootson..." at the end of that "spot"......
I always wondered how the Dootson people and the Teamsters got along btw.....
Dootson was located on Myrtle just N/O Live Oak and, the Teamster CDL upgrade school was on Live Oak just past where Longden changed into Live Oak E/O Myrtle........ -

There should be less drivers. We really do have too many. That's where the problem lies. Too many butts in the seats, that frankly shouldn't be out here. The big training companies (Swift, Prime, Millis, England just to name a few) constantly churn out new steering wheel holders because they can't get drivers to their companies. Facts are facts. If the bigger companies would do the right thing, they wouldn't need a constant stream of lukewarm bodies in their trucks. Look around this site at some of the people, who scare the hell out of me to be honest, are trying to be drivers. You already know they won't last long as they aren't worth the air the breathe. They drive the wages down, and the big mega fleets are happy to do that. It's the Walmartting of the trucking industry. Except all Walmart employees aren't usually put in the position to be able to kill people.

What's the point of those stickers stating that this truck equipped with eobr. I saw my first one last week. Maybe they should put their csa score or driver turn over numbers on the door too!
volvodriver01 Thanks this.
