I would be more than happy to take a look at your petition if you would like. I know that I'm new here, but I have a lot of experience with writing and editing papers. Just send me a PM.
And to those who may say that a petition may do nothing... neither will staying silent about it.
Cheers.

I think it has to do with forum rules, no email addresses can be posted, period.
As for the reply for my previous post, thanks! I'm not against truckers or anything, or I wouldn't be here otherwise! I love the idea of being on the road driving trucks and see the country, especially driving your own truck, and it saddens me to hear that one can no longer make decent living doing this anymore and this lifestyle is in danger of extinction. I know that with fuel prices going up this high and rates did not follow, something has to give, sooner or later.
I just didn't know what the ideal solution would be. I just tried to point out the problem inherent in some of the solutions I can think of.
I'm just trying to point out that if you ever want to do a strike or some such, you might want to have the answer ready when they ask: "What do you want us to do, then?" Otherwise if they decided to take action about it, they just might take actions that you do not expect and might not like!
It seems that some more discussions have started in other threads trying to figure out the best solution. Good!
BTW, it's good that you guys have banded together and try to call attention to this matters, otherwise it won't get the attention it deserves, what with all that's going on in the news nowadays! I can speak only for myself, but I think the general public will understand your plight once they are 'enlightened' to the fact of the matter, and would support you. -

Just slow down.
If you really want to make a difference. Use less fuel. Simple economics show demand drives price. If we use less fuel the price will be driven down.
I for one have backed off to 55 mph. I immediately gained 1 mpg. If everyone reading this would slow down. We would make a huge difference. I know there are times when you need to get somewhere at a certain time, so hammer if you need to, but the times when you don't need to make up time, don't waste fuel just to get to the next truck stop.
I had two other O/O drivers ask me why I was going slow today. I explained my reasons, and they slowed down and ran 55 with me.
Think about it. It's YOUR money use it wisely. -
