Wow... What a way to cover their butts. Yes, charging someone to watch a football game that is nationally televised is against both NFL and NBC policy.

    Crazy.

I take it then you had complianed to that location manager?
I personaly would write ( and have over another problem) to the HOME OFFICE.
    PREPAYING FOR A MEAL??
Not going to pay $12.00 for anything off the menu. What if i only wanted pie?
That Petro manegment needs to be PROACTIVE, not reactive.
They can post a sign saying , only for customers eating off our menu, no outside food or drink allowed.

Petro would have to pay me $20 to sit and watch Nascar. Hell, even then I doubt I would do it. Oh, and regarding reporting them to the NFL, you cannot REbroadcast the game for profit. Selling tickets to see the live broadcast on television is something anyone can do becase it is free to the public to watch. If it was pay per view it would be a whole different story which would require a license for each person watching the event. Petro was doing nothing wrong legally; ethically I think there wrong.

So, let me get this right.

12.75 you eat and get to watch the super bowl.

I guess since I do not care about the super bowl, my meal should have been free.:yes2557:

Sorry for the uproar over this post. There was no signs telling about a meal included, when i asked where the game was being played the girl told me in back room with limited seating and it was 12.75 and was sold out. I didnt know they included a meal but still it wasnt right to take advantage of us drivers. I went to the J watched the game there didnt have to pay or buy anything.

From your description, it hardly sounds like it was in the dining room.

I think they are just covering for something that the local manager did.

The NFL makes you pay them a licensing fee to show the game live on a big screen. I remember a few years ago they cracked down on churches that were showing the game live in their buildings during outreach parties.

Do call the NFL office and ask to speak to someone about this issue of a truck stop charging $12.75 SOLELY to watch a game, not to eat just to watch a game.

I think the NFL would like to have a little chat with them.

Since the Colts-Saints (go Saints !) Super Bowl is THIS Sunday (2-7-2010) ... I would contact the NFL office NOW ...
