I was at the petro in Scranton on Saturday.
All the pumps were blocked and the fuel island
Building was locked up with all the lights off.
I never bothered to ask why

It is the same pattern that Pilot followed when they purchased Flying J and brought in Denny's. If they wanted to purchase these other travel centers they should have left them as a stand alone company and not change them into fuel stops with fast food only.
At the rate they are going it won't be long before a bankruptcy is in the future. Paid parking, no sit down restaurants and lack of customer service is a death threat for a once great truck stop chain.Trucker61016 and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
If the Petro iron skillet can't make a profit I don't see how IHOP will. It's basically the same food. Love's had a couple IHOPs and they were never busy now the closed them for fast food

I would much rather have Iron Skillet than IHOP.
Especially since I can get IHOP when I'm not on the road. -
What i mean is a dennys on its own was a disappointment, but a reliable one, it wasnt godawful, but pair it with a truckstop and instantly it becomes far worse.
For me i prefer ihop to any of the chain breakfast places, country pride and skillet included, but ive never been to one in a truck stop, so we'll see.
Now to get myself in hot water, as for the skillets, if i wanted flavorless watery mush I'd eat grass, and the country prides, its an absolute crapshoot
