I wouldn’t work anywhere that wouldn’t allow my dog, and that’s my choice. I don’t get why the op is so upset that people walk away from his job offer because of his policy. It’s their choice to have a pet and it’s their choice as to where they want to work. It’s pretty simple. I have 21 years of experience, no accidents in 20 years, and no tickets since 2001, and I wouldn’t be interested in your job no matter what it pays. That’s a choice for me to make.

Simple : the op owns the truck and he's the boss ...deal with it or work somewhere else .

Exactly. But he seems to be all twisted off about people who choose to work elsewhere.

So the no pet truck, driver facing drive cam? Forced dispatch? Fuel where you are told? Route where you are told?

to the OP you have a no pet policy... that's up to you

$80,000 a year is good but not all that great. I made $70,000 my last year as a company driver with US Xpress and they have a pet policy and that was 7 years ago before I got my own truck.

you want to think this is nothing but a job BUT for otr drivers it's not. I have a cat that rides with me and I love him. I turn down loads all the time because shippers have a no pet policy..... I don't care..... I turn down loads because I have a beard, I don't care.

if you don't understand why drivers want to have a pet with them then you are incapable understanding why money doesn't matter...

bottom line I care more about my cat than your job.

I have a dog, and he is my companion animal (NOT a G D SERVICE DOG, a pet).

    I also have a job.

The two do not mix. Dog stays home while I work. Why? Company has a no-pet policy, and many of my customers don't want pets on property.

I also stay out 4-6 weeks at a time. Somehow, I manage to survive without my dog. Probably because I find other things to do with my spare time, like sleeping, eating, showering, and getting ready for the next day.

I'm at work to WORK! Not play with the dog!

    And people today suck.

you will after you have to clean that truck up.

Yeah this also includes other things, like primates.

I had a driver who got a chimp of all things from his sister's estate, this thing stank, threw crap all over the place and would bite strangers. He took a week off to help with the estate and took the thing instead of the car of his late sister.

I found out when another driver said something in passing about meeting up with the guy at some shipper and the shipper was not too happy but the thing was in the sleeper so it wasn't a big deal. SO I called the driver and he lied about the thing so I decided when he hits some place up here, I will get a chance to meet up with him and see for myself. I surprised him at the Detroiter where I saw the thing peeking out the sleeper curtains. I wasn't nice about it, just told him to get rid of it or he will be gone, well he was gone and those who went to recover the truck had to have it towed because of the stench.

So you guys think that it is alright to have chimps, orangutans and other primates, you do it in your own truck.

There's a mobile crew where I park my truck that will clean the MOST THRASHED interior to brand new for $225.

Bring the Dragon. Leave the stick in your ### at home.
