My GOD. Non surgical masks were NEVER prescribed by the CDC. In fact they issued a clear public announcement that "face covering" is no substitute for N95 or surgical masks. But because of the shortage and the prioritization to emergency and medical professional of such mask face coverings could be substituted but must be washed, sanitized or discarded after a single use. Amnesia is another infection with the general public. Your post made me laugh though. Thanks.

 

Because, as of today, they tell people using a cloth mask helps prevent the spread. That is a lie. Period.

Until they fix that lie, everything else they claim has to be treated as a lie.

 

Can you back those numbers up?

I haven't checked, and not sure of how many deaths there are in a usual year, etc. I know nothing of the subject, but rather than endless partisan bickering one could choose to go with the science, if maths are science that is.

Does 600,000 deaths constitute a major increase? Ok, there are industries that support the death industry, correct? How is Batesville caskets stock doing? Anyone called popular cemeteries and asked how's business?

We are truck drivers so constantly on the road right? Anyone seen a flurry of funeral processions this year far out of the ordinary? (I rarely, rarely see any). Are hearses selling like hotcakes with waiting list?

Etc. Etc.

I had the Covid and equate it to being less than a really serious flu in severity. I don't really care about all the hubub at least until it affects me personally more than say having to wear a mask in a private business.

If 600,000 deaths constitutes a substantial annual increase, there are industries that should be making a lot more $$ than usual. One so inclined could investigate.

I think the pandemic is very wrapped up in politics, and also causes some people who have other major issues to succumb. Just my opinion.

 

Unfortunately we won't get those numbers until November. At least that's when they are typically posted. I have my doubts they will be posted this year as they will show how much fearmongering there was surrounding this virus.

Why should we be the greatest country? What is it that sets us apart? I contend that if you actually HAD convincing evidence of a plague that was near 30% mortality, youd still have 20% that didnt beleive it or could see the devestation but would just go on with life as normal, that independent streak IS the strength of this country. Total deaths, 3,358,814, year 2020, supposedly 377,883 were attributable to covid in some way. Mortality from 2019 shows Thats straight from the cdc. So who cares? Sucks to be part of that statistic, sucks to be a family member, but its still TINY. US has roughly replacement levels of immigration and birth rate, so roughly 1 % of all americans died last year, continuing the trend for 100 years, that literally means the average age of death would be 100. Covid is statistical noise in the long view, it has killed primarily the elderly, if anything it has not been deadly enough because disrupting the lives of 100 % of a population to on average extend the oldest peoples lives another what? 5 years. THAT is insanity. Name a stable group that steals vitality from the younger generations to prop up the oldest for a few more miserable years in a nursing home, all paid for by the people still working. We would call that THEFT. of life, money, happiness.
