8-10 hours a day? you got a nice trainer, mine wanted me to do 11 every day, sometimes I told him to fly a kite because that is exhausting for someone new. Looking back he's not real intelligent leaving his life in the hands of someone brand new and pushing them to go further and further but I digress. Sorry.

Awe, you poor babies. Who would have thought that trucking involved driving?

yup I'm sure you were doing 11 hours a day from day one and only stopped to let the tires cool off. Direct descendant of super trucker and midnight rider no doubt.

Actually when I first started I was driving 12 hours a day and I didn't complain that I shouldn't be driving that much because I was new. I take your "super trucker" comment as a compliment so thank you very much!

    GenericUserName and TruckDuo Thank this.

Pardon me if this should brash or at all harsh, it is certainly not the intention. You are failing to take into consideration the value of your training through time behind the wheel. As someone already pointed out, CDL training is quite expensive. I endured 3 months with zero income and an expense of $5500.

Time and time again, I see threads from people who jump in head first totally unprepared for what they are about to embark on or unrealistic expectations. This is darn hard work, the pay is commensurate with experience - which you won't get while earning what you think you are going to need to make to support a family of five. Sorry, it's the truth.

Interesting analysis Triplesix...you're one of those know it all types huh? Lol

England dangled $500-600 a week to all the students in training. ...not $300....but it is what it is.

No but seriously......I actually did do some research on the school, saw all the crazy reviews and blah blah blah....my uncle went to England 8 years ago and stayed with them for 18 months so I pretty much had all the info I needed to know.

My thing is just realizing that I just may have to stick it out if I want to make something of this and deal with it until I gain the experience, then ho from there.

Not really here for sympathy because I have kids and a wife.....but $350 a week for the next 2 months is a bit of a strain....but I'll just have to deal with it.
